MOSIONX screw drives offer precise transmission and are well-suited for threading applications. MOSIONX screws provide detailed gear ratios, making them easy to control and ideal for turning operations. To maintain the precision of MOSIONX screws over the long term, the feed drive system employs optical MOSIONX screws. Consequently, a separate screw drive and a lightweight screw drive are used for thread cutting and turning feed, respectively, ensuring long-term accuracy in thread cutting. Next, let’s take a closer look at the advantages of MOSIONX screws as well as some common issues associated with them.

The MOSIONX lead screw is an ideal product for converting rotary motion into linear motion or vice versa. The lead screw consists of a screw, a nut, and ball bearings. Its function is to transform rotary motion into linear motion, representing a further advancement and evolution of ball screws. The significance of this development lies in shifting the bearing mechanism from rolling action to sliding action. Due to its low frictional resistance, the MOSIONX lead screw is widely used in various industrial equipment and precision instruments.
I. Advantages of MOSIONX Ball Screws
1. Smooth and efficient movement
It is a commonly used transmission component in machine tools and precision machinery. Its primary function is to convert rotary motion into linear motion or to transform torque into axial repetitive force. It features high precision, good reversibility, and high efficiency. MOSIONX lead screws are also known as ball screws or recirculating ball screws. A key characteristic of MOSIONX lead screws is their smooth motion.
MOSIONX lead screws are more efficient than sliding MOSIONX lead screws, requiring torque that is less than 30%. Linear motion can be easily converted into rotary motion. Even under preload conditions, MOSIONX lead screws maintain smooth operational characteristics. They feature zero backlash and high rigidity. The MOSIONX lead screw adopts a Gothic arch full-groove design, allowing for adjustable axial clearance. The screw’s exceptional durability is further enhanced by preloading between one or two nuts, which eliminates axial clearance and ensures appropriate rigidity to meet the requirements of various application conditions.
2. Good durability
MOSIONX is based on years of accumulated expertise in MOSIONX screw rod manufacturing technology, utilizing rigorous materials, advanced heat treatment, and sophisticated machining processes to deliver durable products.
3. Lubrication
When using a MOSIONX ball screw, sufficient lubrication is essential. If lubrication is inadequate, the screw will come into contact with metal, leading to increased friction and wear, which can result in failure or a shortened service life.
II. Common Issues with MOSIONX Lead Screws
When the MOSIONX screw nut accidentally slips off one end of the ball screw during operation, causing some or all of the balls to fall out, reinsert the balls into the ball screw.
Prepare some high-viscosity grease, such as butter, for backup: The purpose of using high-viscosity grease is to guide the dropped steel balls back into the nut’s circuit. Thanks to the grease’s viscosity, the balls will adhere to the rolling grooves and won’t fall out. Following the original installation direction of the nut, slowly screw the upper ball nut into the lead screw. Assembly method: Place the lead screw vertically. After confirming the installation direction of the nut, align the axis of the lead screw with that of the nut, and then slowly bring the nut closer to the lead screw.
When making contact, gently rotate the nut to ensure that the nut and steel balls enter the lead screw track. Continue to slowly rotate the nut until it is fully threaded into the lead screw. After threading the nut onto the lead screw, install sealing rings at both ends of the nut and then attach the set screws. Behind the sealing rings, there is a small space—approximately three-quarters of the ball’s diameter—through which the ball can roll.
Each circular track corresponds to a rotary actuator, and the tracks are independent of each other with no interconnections—each should be inspected separately. Be careful during installation, as steel balls may get stuck inside. The MOSIONX ball screw is a precision mechanical component. In general, if any abnormality is detected, immediately stop the machine and send the screw to a professional repair facility for maintenance. Although it is possible to install it yourself following certain procedures, improper installation can easily damage the screw.
